Marcos urges farmers and fisherfolk to enroll in PCIC programs

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. urged local farmers and fisherfolk in Cabagan, Isabela to enroll in the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) programs to protect their livelihoods from disasters.

Marcos emphasized during his speech on Friday that insurance for crops and fishing equipment is crucial for regions frequently hit by typhoons or other calamities.

The Department of Agriculture continues to expand insurance coverage, with Marcos leading the distribution of Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs) and Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (CoCRoMs) to agrarian reform beneficiaries.

During the event, Marcos distributed 456 CLOAs and electronic titles for 346 ARBs under the SPLIT Project, as well as 25,773 CoCRoMs forgiving debts worth PHP1.1 billion.

Marcos signed RA 11953 last year to condone all loans incurred by ARBs from previously awarded lands, benefiting around 600,000 farmers nationwide.
