Marcos to visit Cambodia, attend UNGA in September

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will undertake two foreign trips next month, visiting Cambodia from September 7 to 9 for a state visit, followed by participation in the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York starting on September 22.

During his state visit to Phnom Penh, President Marcos is expected to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Cambodia, particularly in agriculture and people-to-people exchanges, while also signaling early lobbying ahead of the Philippines' ASEAN chairmanship next year.

His UNGA attendance will advance the Philippines' bid for a non-permanent UN Security Council seat in 2026 and emphasize the country's commitment to international agreements and its role as a credible partner in promoting peace and stability.

Details of Marcos's agenda, including bilateral meetings and speaking engagements, will be announced by the Presidential Communications Office in the coming days.

This marks President Marcos Jr.'s second appearance at the UN General Assembly since his participation in 2022.
