Marcos tasks DPWH to audit P93.3B in flood control projects

Bulacan, Cebu, and Isabela are the top three provinces with the highest total contract costs for flood control projects, according to data from the Sumbong sa Pangulo website.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. recently inspected areas affected by floods caused by the Southwest Monsoon and cyclones Crising, Dante, and Emong, noting numerous failed flood control projects.

Marcos tasked the Department of Public Works and Highways to compile a list of flood control projects from the past three years for public scrutiny and audit.

The president emphasized that any misuse or theft of funds allocated for these projects would be addressed under the law.

Data shows Bulacan received P43.8 billion for 668 projects, Cebu received P26.7 billion for 414 projects, and Isabela received P22.8 billion for 337 projects.

The Sumbong sa Pangulo website was launched to seek public help in auditing flood control projects following Marcos's State of the Nation Address on July 28, 2025.
