Marcos signs AO establishing Task Force Kanlaon for Mount Kanlaon response

President Marcos signed Administrative Order No. 32 on April 24 to establish the National Task Force Kanlaon for coordinating government response efforts related to Mount Kanlaon’s volcanic activity.

The task force will oversee recovery, rehabilitation, and resettlement programs, develop a comprehensive risk assessment within the 14-kilometer danger zone, and collaborate with private sectors to address community needs.

Task Force Kanlaon is chaired by the Department of National Defense, with the OCD serving as Secretariat providing technical support. Other members include DOST, DENR, DPWH, DSWD, DOLE, DILG, and DOH.

Mount Kanlaon has been under Alert Level 3 since December 9, 2024, causing over P129 million in agricultural damage and affecting more than 48,500 individuals.

AO 32 mandates annual reports on its implementation and funding from existing appropriations and identified sources.
