Marcos set for fourth SONA, PNP ensures security

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. is preparing for his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 28.

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro stated that Marcos aims to provide a comprehensive report on his projects and achievements, emphasizing the need for a clear and detailed presentation to the Filipino people as preparations are still ongoing.

The Philippines National Police (PNP) announced it will implement concrete measures to ensure a peaceful SONA, though adjustments may be made based on intelligence received.

Vice President Sara Duterte confirmed she will not attend Marcos' fourth SONA, while more than 200 guests have already RSVP'd for the event.

The House of Representatives has started preparations as early as May and is expected to deploy around 27,000 security personnel to secure the Batasan Complex.
