Marcos reports PHP83B worth of drugs seized, over 153K arrested since 2022

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reported during his fourth State of the Nation Address on Monday that PHP83 billion worth of illegal drugs have been seized and over 153,000 suspects arrested since he took office in 2022.

Of those arrested, more than 9,600 were high-value targets with large shipments intercepted in various provinces and cities, including some 677 government officials such as over 100 elected officials and more than 50 police officers.

Marcos highlighted that his administration's achievements nearly match the total seizures of the previous Duterte administration within three years.

The President vowed to remain relentless in the fight against illegal drugs, emphasizing that operations against drug dealers will continue despite recent progress.

He also stressed the government’s commitment to addressing cases involving missing sabungeros and promised to hold accountable all masterminds involved, regardless of their status or influence.
