Marcos reorganizes ED Council, integrates OSAPIEA

President Marcos issued Administrative Order No. 37 on April 27, 2025, reorganizing the Economy and Development Council (ED Council) and its committees, and integrating the Office of the Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs (OSAPIEA).

The order designates OSAPIEA as a member of the ED Council and assigns it representation in various committees such as the Development Budget Coordination Committee (DBCC), Investment Coordination Committee (ICC), Infrastructure Committee, and Social Development Committee (SDC).

President Marcos also designated the Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs as chairperson of EDCom, with the secretaries of DEPDev and DOF serving as vice chairs.

The reorganization aims to ensure continuity in integrating, coordinating, and implementing socioeconomic policies and programs, following the passage of Republic Act 12145, which renamed NEDA as DEPDev and reconstituted the NEDA Board as the ED Council.

Other key adjustments include expanding SDC membership to include secretaries from departments such as Agrarian Reform, Environment and Natural Resources, and representatives from education and skills development.
