Marcos announces four-tranche salary increase for gov workers

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. announced during his third State of the Nation Address on Monday that a four-tranche salary increase for government workers is already underway.

Government employees will receive a medical allowance as an added benefit next year, with funds allocated starting from this year to support these increases.

Marcos highlighted that job order and contract personnel in government services will continue their roles to help them work on their civil service eligibility and gain additional experience.

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) is finalizing a study for salary adjustments and has already allocated PHP36 billion under the 2024 General Appropriations Act for Personnel Services expenditures.

A total of PHP70 billion has been allotted in the 2025 National Expenditure Program to ensure the implementation of the first two tranches of the salary increase.
