Marcos skips mentioning Villar at rally amid investigation

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. omitted Las Piñas representative Camille Villar from his speech during the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas campaign rally in Batangas City on Saturday, May 3.

This marks the first time that President Marcos has not mentioned Villar, who is typically endorsed by him despite her absence at some rallies.

Villar's photos were also absent from the stage backdrop, coinciding with an investigation into PrimeWater Infrastructure Corp., owned by the Villar family, which was ordered days earlier due to consumer complaints.

The Nacionalista Party (NP), which Villar leads and is part of Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, previously supported Marcos before he joined Partido Federal ng Pilipinas for his 2022 presidential bid.

Meanwhile, Batangas gubernatorial candidate Vilma Santos-Recto expressed support for the administration's senatorial slate during a lunch hosted by her and Finance Secretary Ralph Recto for Alyansa candidates.

Santos-Recto emphasized the importance of working together as a team to help Batangas province in the upcoming Eleksyon 2025 elections, given that Calabarzon is the region with the most registered voters.
