Marcos names Vergeire DOH OIC

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has appointed Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire as the officer-in-charge of the Department of Health (DOH).

Vergeire thanked President Marcos and the nation for this opportunity to serve.

She emphasized that her top priorities include boosting the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, limiting coronavirus spread, and protecting health workers' welfare.

Prior to this role, Vergeire served as DOH Undersecretary for Public Health Services Team and was previously tapped to head the National Vaccination Operations Center.
