Marcos marks PH-China 50-year ties by lighting Jones Bridge

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led a ceremony on Saturday to mark 50 years of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and China by lighting Jones Bridge in Manila's Binondo district.

During his speech at the Chinatown Revitalization Project event, Marcos reminisced about the food culture of Binondo and emphasized its historical significance as the world's oldest Chinatown.

He encouraged Filipinos to visit historic areas like Escolta and Ongpin to experience their rich history and cultural heritage.

Among those present were First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos and Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian, who highlighted the close ties between China and the Philippines.

The revitalization project aims to restore Binondo's cultural and historical significance while commemorating 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
