Marcos visits Tagum job fair, urges seizing opps

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited a 'Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas' job fair in Tagum City on Saturday, urging Filipinos to take advantage of employment opportunities provided by the initiative.

The event featured 28 employers and attracted around 4,000 job seekers, primarily from DSWD's Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program and DOLE's TUPAD program.

DOLE provided cash assistance to 1,000 TUPAD workers while DSWD extended food assistance worth PHP3,000 each to 3,000 graduating 4Ps beneficiaries through the AICS program.

The job fair also included pre-employment documentation and advisory services from government agencies such as DTI, Pag-IBIG Fund, and SSS, along with a Kadiwa ng Pangulo market fair offering affordable goods and agricultural products.

In January 2025 alone, the 'Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas' job fairs have resulted in the hiring of around 1,000 Filipino job seekers on the spot, while another 8,000 submitted applications. The President highlighted that during the program's launch in January, more than 9,068 individuals applied for jobs and over 1,028 were hired immediately.
