Marcos launches APP Program for farmers in Mindanao

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. launched the Agri-Puhunan at Pantawid (APP) Program during his visit in Mindanao on Friday, April 11.

The program allows farmers to borrow up to P60,000 at a low interest rate of two percent per year and provides a monthly subsistence allowance of P8,000 for four months from planting to harvesting.

Marcos emphasized the goal of easing financial burdens on farmers and highlighted the importance of providing them with affordable loans and ready markets for their produce.

Farmers can repay these loans by selling their harvest to the National Food Authority or Department of Agriculture-accredited cooperatives, while also receiving Intervention Monitoring Cards for purchasing farming materials from accredited suppliers.

During the launch, Marcos also handed over various farm machineries and equipment, including a mobile disinfection truck and a forage chopper, aimed at increasing productivity and income.
