Marcos lauds World Bank CPF aligning with PH goals

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. praised the launch of the World Bank Group's Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for fiscal years 2026 to 2031, which aligns with his government's development agenda.

The CPF aims to improve access to quality health care and education, create more private sector jobs, and enhance disaster resilience in the face of climate change.

Marcos highlighted initiatives such as the Philippine Health Systems Resilience Project to address health emergencies and equitable access to care, and stressed the importance of addressing learning gaps and aligning student skills with market demands.

To drive job creation, Marcos said the government will simplify business regulations, enhance infrastructure, and attract more investments. The CPF also includes efforts to build evacuation centers, early warning systems, and social protection mechanisms to prepare for climate change impacts.

Marcos thanked the World Bank for its long-standing partnership and assured Filipinos affected by recent disasters of continued aid and rehabilitation efforts. Secretary Arsenio Balisacan of the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) expressed deep appreciation for the CPF's strong alignment with the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028 and AmBisyon Natin 2040.

The President emphasized that the World Bank has supported the Philippines in building critical infrastructure and boosting preparedness against climate change and natural disasters over the past eight decades, providing not just financial assistance but also technical expertise.

Marcos assured Filipinos affected by recent disasters of continued aid and rehabilitation efforts, stressing the government's commitment to public service delivery.
