Marcos Jr. backs Bonoan amid ghost project controversy

Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan continues to enjoy the trust and confidence of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., despite mounting controversy over alleged ghost and anomalous flood control projects.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro stated that there are currently no plans to take action against Bonoan, emphasizing that his trust remains intact.

Former public works secretary Rogelio Singson reported receiving inquiries about a possible return to DPWH but declined the offer.

Malacanang urged Batangas First District Rep. Leandro Leviste to coordinate with the Office of the President to probe the personalities behind an alleged attempt to bribe him in exchange for abandoning a probe of flood control projects in his district.

Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong submitted documents regarding anomalous flood control projects, and the President is open to discussing these issues with him.

The Palace confirmed that it received documents from Baguio regarding details of anomalous flood control projects and vowed to investigate them thoroughly.
