Marcos Jr. evaluating Cabinet, considering changes

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. is currently evaluating the performance of his Cabinet members and considering potential changes in department leadership, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro confirmed Tuesday.

Castro stated that while certain officials have resigned voluntarily, such as Secretary Cesar Chavez, the President is still assessing whether a change in leaders is necessary for each department.

Regarding recent resignations, Castro noted that these were not a direct result of the current evaluation process but rather voluntary decisions by Cabinet members.

Among those whose status was asked included Information and Communications Technology Secretary Ivan Uy, but Castro said the Presidential Communications Office has yet to receive any information regarding this.

The Presidential Communications Office will undergo changes following Jay Ruiz's appointment as interim Secretary, although PCO officials have not been required to submit their courtesy resignations.

Castro emphasized that any potential revamps within the Marcos Cabinet remain under evaluation and no concrete decisions have been made at this time.
