Marcos appoints Orbos as PTNI acting chair

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has appointed former executive secretary Oscar Orbos as acting chairperson and member of the Board of Directors of People's Television Network, Inc. (PTNI).

Orbos took his oath today before Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, representing the private sector.

The PCO announced these changes in a Facebook post on Thursday, highlighting Orbos' extensive experience including roles as executive secretary under President Corazon Aquino from 1990 to 1991 and various elected positions such as Pangasinan's congressman and governor.

Political analyst Antonio Contreras will serve alongside Orbos at PTNI as acting vice chairperson representing the educational sector, while Katherine Chloe de Castro was named director general of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).

Francis Carlo Taparan has been appointed Director IV of the National Printing Office (NPO) in further changes made by President Marcos.

Orbos' career includes serving as GMA Network's 'Debate with Mare at Pare' co-host alongside economics professor Solita Monsod, along with his roles as congressman and governor.
