Marcos inspects CALAX construction in Cavite

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. inspected the ongoing construction of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) Governor's Drive Interchange in Cavite on Friday.

The 8.64-kilometer segment linking Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange to Governor's Drive in General Trias City is currently 44 percent complete and expected to be operational by the third quarter of 2025, according to Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC).

During the inspection, Marcos was joined by key officials including Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan, Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon, Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla, Cavite Governor Athenda Tolentino, MPTC Chairman Manuel Pangilinan, and General Trias City Mayor Jonjon Ferrer.

The completed section will ease congestion on Governor's Drive and provide seamless access to major economic hubs in the region.

Once operational, CALAX is expected to significantly reduce travel time between CAVITEX and SLEX by about 45 minutes, benefiting up to 95,000 motorists daily.
