Marcos hosts senators for dinner after Zubiri ousting

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. hosted a gathering with several senators on Tuesday following the ousting of former Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri.

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos shared photos on Instagram and Facebook showing the President and select senators, including newly elected Senate President Francis Escudero, along with their spouses.

Notably absent from the gathering were Zubiri, Joel Villanueva, JV Ejercito, Sonny Angara, and Nancy Binay, while present were Senators Robin Padilla, Alan Peter Cayetano, Francis Tolentino, Raffy Tulfo, Sherwin Gatchalian, Mark Villar, Jinggoy Estrada, Grace Poe, Cynthia Villar, Loren Legarda, and Pia Cayetano.

The meeting was described as a casual dinner with no discussions about the Senate leadership change or Charter change. It had been planned three weeks prior to the leadership shift.

Senator Imee Marcos attended but was not in the photo because she arrived later.
