Marcos establishes OPAPRR to rehab Pasig River

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has established the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Pasig River Rehabilitation (OPAPRR) through Executive Order No. 92 to oversee the timely implementation and rehabilitation of the historically and culturally important Pasig River.

The OPAPRR, headed by a Cabinet-level Presidential Adviser for Pasig River Rehabilitation appointed by the President with the rank and compensation of a Secretary, will advise on policies and programs related to the river's restoration and development.

Jerry Acuzar currently holds the position of Presidential Adviser for Pasig River Rehabilitation.

The office is tasked with monitoring initiatives, coordinating efforts among agencies, and ensuring compliance with presidential directives on river rehabilitation and development.

Executive Order No. 92 also reorganizes the Inter-Agency Council for Pasig River Urban Development (IAC-PRUD) under the leadership of the Presidential Adviser to oversee policy harmonization and bi-annual reporting to the President.

Funding for the OPAPRR's operations will come from appropriations of concerned agencies, with the council authorized to accept funding through investment contracts and agreements.
