Marcos, Duterte hail INC’s 111 years, declare July 27 holiday

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte praised the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) for its 111 years of service and commitment to nation-building on Sunday, July 27.

Marcos encouraged the religious group to continue supporting his administration's vision of reform, good governance, and inclusive development, while Duterte called on members to practice God’s teachings and humility.

In a statement, Marcos lauded the INC for its century-long dedication as 'exemplary citizens' and 'devout followers through various acts of service, charity and unity'.

The INC's humanitarian efforts through programs like Lingap sa Mamamayan, which provides medical missions, relief operations, housing projects, and livelihood assistance, were acknowledged by Marcos.

President Marcos issued Proclamation No. 729 declaring July 27 as a special non-working day nationwide in recognition of the founding anniversary of Iglesia Ni Cristo.
