Marcos calls for anti-corruption unity on heroes day

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. used the National Heroes' Day commemoration on Monday to call for a united front against corruption and abuse of power.

Marcos emphasized that corruption steals the health, dreams, and future of Filipino youth, warning that it is a betrayal to both past heroes and present generations.

The President vowed to hold accountable all those involved in anomalies and corruption, promising transparency and accountability in government projects, particularly focusing on flood control initiatives.

Top officials echoed Marcos' anti-corruption stance; House Speaker Martin Romualdez warned against allowing corruption to undermine the gains secured by Philippine heroes.

Vice President Sara Duterte also honored military personnel and frontline workers for their service while highlighting the sacrifices of Overseas Filipino Workers.

Senate President Chiz Escudero stressed the importance of advancing laws that uphold democracy, justice, and equality in line with the ideals fought for by heroes then and now.
