Marcos calls for review of RA 10912 to ease professional licensing burden

During the 123rd Labor Day celebration in Pasay City on Thursday, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. called for a review of Republic Act 10912 to ease the burden on professionals.

Marcos acknowledged the difficulties faced by professionals in renewing their licenses due to high costs and training requirements.

He urged the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Continuing Professional Development Council (CPDC) to reassess the guidelines under RA 10912 to ensure they are fair for professionals.

The President emphasized that the act should not just mandate training hours but also provide opportunities for professional development.

Marcos stressed the importance of broadening knowledge to meet industry needs both locally and globally, while questioning if additional burdens on workers are necessary.

RA 10912 mandates renewal of Professional Identification Cards and allows professionals working overseas to attend foreign-accredited trainings or seminars.
