Marcos appoints retired Police Gen Thompson Lantion as new BCDA chairman

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has appointed retired Police General Thompson Lantion as the new chairman of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).

Lantion will officially assume his post on Wednesday, replacing former Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana who is stepping down to transition into a private life.

Communications Secretary Cesar Chavez confirmed Lantion's appointment to Palace reporters on Tuesday.

In his new role, Lantion will be tasked with improving BCDA corporations under Marcos's leadership and is expected to sustain or surpass the progress made by the previous administration.

Lorenzana congratulated Lantion for his appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to maintain BCDA's development trajectory.
