Marcos appoints Aquino as PCO Undersecretary

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed Jorjette Barrenechea Aquino as Undersecretary of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).

Aquino will take over from PCO Undersecretary Cherbett Karen Maralit, according to an appointment dated January 23.

Before joining the PCO, Aquino served as Assistant Secretary for Rails in the Department of Transportation and holds a BS Math major in Actuarial Science and Statistics from De La Salle University and a Master of Public Administration from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

Aquino's role will include digitalizing PTV-4 and rationalizing state media agencies such as Radyo Pilipinas, News and Information Bureau, Philippine News Agency, Philippine Information Agency, Bureau of Communications Services, and IBC-13 under the Japan International Cooperation Agency’s assistance.

Her primary focus will be on implementing a rationalization plan to improve the efficiency and digital presence of these media entities.
