Marcos appoints Garafil PCO secretary

Lawyer Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil took her oath as Secretary of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Tuesday, January 10.

Garafil was previously serving as Officer-in-Charge and Undersecretary of the PCO since October 2022 after the resignation of Trixie Cruz-Angeles due to a blunder during President Marcos Jr.'s trip to New York.

Prior to her role at the PCO, Garafil served as chairperson of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) before joining the Palace communications team.

Garafil has also held positions in the Department of Justice, Office of the Solicitor General, and House of Representatives.
