Marcos Jr swears in Aguda as new DICT sec

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. swore in Henry Rhoel Aguda as the new Secretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology on Tuesday.

Marcos expressed confidence that under Aguda's leadership, the digital transformation of the country will be accelerated to ensure all Filipinos benefit from modern technology opportunities.

Aguda, who previously served as president and CEO of UnionDigital Bank and was the Digital Infrastructure Lead at the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC), brings extensive experience in banking, technology, and telecommunications.

Ivan John Uy, who resigned earlier this month, was replaced by Aguda in his role as DICT Secretary.

Aguda's appointment aims to further modernize the nation's technological infrastructure and hasten digitalization efforts.
