Marcos allocates PHP 10B for PRDP in Region IV-A

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. announced Thursday that PHP 10 billion was allocated for the Philippine Rural Development Plan (PRDP) in Region IV-A from 2023 to 2024, aimed at boosting the agri-fishery sector and improving local farmers’ productivity.

During a distribution event of presidential assistance to farmers and fisherfolk affected by El Niño in San Jose, Batangas, Marcos highlighted ongoing projects such as the Taal Lake Circumferential Road and Quipot Irrigation Project.

The PRDP includes road constructions and irrigation systems designed to empower local communities and enhance agricultural productivity, while also providing financial aid to provincial governments in Batangas, Laguna, and Quezon.

Marcos distributed PHP 10,000 each to 30 selected beneficiaries from the three provinces and provided machinery such as farm tractors and combine harvesters under various agricultural programs.

Government agencies contributed aids including rice seeds, fishing cages, business kits, and certificates of scholarship to further support local farmers and fisherfolk.

In addition to these projects in Batangas, Marcos also mentioned that construction is underway on the Cavite-Laguna Expressway-Cavite Segment and South Luzon Expressway Toll Road 4.
