Marcos distributes 30K CLOAs, aims for more farm aid

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. announced on Friday that nearly 30,000 Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) and electronic titles have been distributed to agrarian reform beneficiaries since January.

Marcos stated during a distribution ceremony in Pili, Camarines Sur, that the government aims to distribute more than 617 farm machinery and equipment worth over PHP20.66 million by year-end, alongside an additional target of 36,000 CLOAs.

In Bicol alone, Marcos handed over around 2,115 CLOAs covering nearly 3,328 hectares of land to benefit agrarian reform beneficiaries across six provinces and completed eight farm-to-market roads in the region.

Last July, Marcos signed the New Agrarian Emancipation Act, which aims to condone amortization payments and penalties on farmed lands, benefiting approximately 610,054 beneficiaries with a write-off of PHP57.557 billion in loans.

Alongside land titles, Marcos also distributed agricultural aid worth over PHP60 million from various government agencies to support communities affected by El Niño.
