Mapua University's Nicole Ong and Barbie San Andres named NCAA Players of the Week

Mapua University's Nicole Ong and Barbie San Andres were named NCAA Season 100 Players of the Week for their outstanding performances from April 3 to 12.

Ong, a middle blocker, led Mapua to two crucial victories with strong contributions against defending champions Benilde and Perpetual Help System DALTA, securing a 7-2 win-loss record at the end of the first round.

San Andres, a hitter on the men's team, secured key wins over Perpetual Help System DALTA and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde with an impressive triple-double performance in their dominant victory against Benilde.

Both players' achievements helped Mapua maintain its strong position in both divisions at the end of the first round of the tournament.

The league will take a short break for Holy Week before resuming the second round of elimination matches next week.
