Mapua secures top NCAA spot with narrow win over Perpetual Help

Mapua University secured a narrow 62-61 victory over Perpetual Help on Saturday to extend their winning streak to five games and take the top spot in the NCAA Season 99 standings.

Clint Escamis led Mapua with a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Marc Cuenco added 13 points.

Mapua has won seven out of eight games this season, with team stars Clint Escamis and Warren Bonifacio emphasizing the importance of focus and unity to secure the championship.

Warren Bonifacio credits their success to strong chemistry both on and off the court, while also praising his teammates' dedication to extra work.

Earlier in the week, Mapua routed Arellano University 79-65, securing the first seed in the tournament's first round.
