Manila Water launches RAP for ten water facilities

Manila Water Co., led by Razon, inaugurated its first Retail Aggregation Program (RAP) on Thursday, February 27, for ten water facilities.

The program aims to reduce energy costs and integrate renewable energy sources through greater flexibility in power sourcing and negotiation for lower electricity tariffs.

With the promulgation of the Omnibus Rules, Manila Water has become the first pilot entity to switch from a captive to a contestable market under the expanded RAP on February 7, 2025.

Manila Water President Jocot de Dios emphasized that the initiative will enhance operational efficiency while improving services for customers and contributing to a competitive energy market.

Currently, ten wastewater facilities have been consolidated under the RAP, with a combined average demand of 500KW, reinforcing Manila Water's commitment to responsible resource management and service excellence.
