Manila under Blue Alert for Southwest Monsoon

Manila City has been placed under a 'Blue Alert' status to prepare for potential effects of the Southwest Monsoon enhanced by a Low Pressure Area (LPA), as announced by the Manila Public Information Office on Tuesday, August 26.

The alert was raised at 2 p.m. in response to projections from DOST-PAGASA and the city's resident meteorologist, who predict light to moderate rain, with possible heavy downpours in Manila on Wednesday, August 27.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno directed the preparation for the rainy season, emphasizing the need for residents to stay alert, especially near bodies of water due to potential flooding risks.
