DILG explains Manila’s use of e-trikes for health workers

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año explained why Manila was allowed to use e-trikes during the enhanced community quarantine while Pasig City was not.

Año stated that Manila's 189 e-trikes are specifically for dispatching health workers to hospitals and do not operate as taxis.

In contrast, Pasig's conventional tricycles were prohibited due to concerns about limiting trips effectively.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno hired the e-trike drivers through a partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment to ferry healthcare workers to various district hospitals.
