Sinas assumes PNP chief amid controversy

Police General Debold Sinas assumed the position as the 25th chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday, November 10.

Despite criticisms over his appointment due to a previous mañanita controversy where he violated COVID-19 health protocols, Sinas insists that he is qualified for the role.

At a Laging Handa press briefing on Wednesday, Sinas stated that his extensive experience in various police offices qualifies him to lead the PNP and promised to prove critics wrong.

In his inaugural speech, Sinas emphasized the importance of walking the talk within the PNP and vowed to prosecute policemen caught committing illegal acts without special treatment.
