Jamie Malonzo signs with Kyoto Hannaryz in Japan

Filipino basketball player Jamie Malonzo signed with B.League team Kyoto Hannaryz in Japan for the 2025-26 season, expressing gratitude to the management and excitement about contributing to their success.

Malonzo's move was known by Barangay Ginebra San Miguel weeks prior as he expressed interest in playing in Japan for years, according to coach Tim Cone.

Ginebra head coach Tim Cone said that while they are disappointed with Malonzo's departure, they understand the opportunity it presents and wish him well.

Malonzo averaged 13.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game for Ginebra in the recently concluded PBA Philippine Cup before joining Kyoto Hannaryz.

Kyoto Hannaryz is looking forward to supporting Malonzo both on and off the court as he approaches the peak of his career, praising his offensive abilities and defensive skills that utilize his size.
