Irha Alfeche wins swimsuit competition at Miss Philippines Earth

Irha Alfeche from Matanao, Davao del Sur, won her first medal at the 2024 Miss Philippines Earth pageant by topping the swimsuit competition on Saturday, May 4.

Ira Patricia Malaluan from Batangas City and Sam Samara from Makati City have each collected three medals, with Malaluan leading in both the 'Darling of the Press' poll and beach wear competition, while Samara won the beach wear contest and placed second and third in the evening gown and swimsuit competitions.

Malaluan also secured her first gold medal at the preliminary swimsuit competition held in Malitbog Cultural Center, with Samara earning silver. Meanwhile, Kristel Codas from Iligan City topped the talent competition and placed second in beach wear.

The pageant's coronation night is set for May 11 in Talakag, Bukidnon, where one of the twenty-nine delegates will succeed reigning queen Yllana Marie Aduana to represent the country in the Miss Earth pageant later this year.

Karla Henry and Elton Ladd hosted the ceremonies, while Jamie Herrell served on the judging panel. The event attracted a large crowd with free tickets distributed by the local government.
