Malacañang urges positive view of free train rides for Labor Day

Malacañang urged the public to view positively the free train rides offered by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for Labor Day from April 30 to May 3.

Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro emphasized during a press briefing that the initiative is a sincere gesture to honor Filipino workers and dismissed claims of political motivation.

Castro clarified that the four-day duration was chosen so that more commuters, who are off work on May 1, could benefit from the free rides.

The initiative aims to provide comfort and ease commuting expenses for workers, acknowledging their sacrifices in contributing to the economy and society.

She reiterated that Labor Day is an international holiday celebrating Filipino workers' contributions, making this timing ideal for such benefits.
