Malacañang urges OFWs to vote patriotically

Malacañang urged overseas Filipino voters to cast their ballots for candidates who are loyal and patriotic on Monday as the month-long online voting period for the 2025 midterm elections began.

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro emphasized that voters should choose leaders based on integrity rather than monetary incentives or hearsay, reminding them of the importance of voting as a patriotic duty.

As of Monday morning, a total of 1.8 million overseas Filipino voters were eligible to participate in the election, with over 54,575 enrolled in the Commission on Elections (Comelec) system.

The Comelec implemented internet voting for the first time at 77 posts worldwide, allowing registered voters to cast ballots via smartphones, computers, and tablets.

Malacañang expressed optimism about the new online voting process, hoping it will facilitate a smoother and faster voting experience for overseas Filipinos.
