Malacañang orders half-day work on Holy Wednesday

Malacañang has declared a half-day work schedule for government offices on Holy Wednesday, April 16.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin signed Memorandum Circular No. 81 on Monday, April 14, specifying that employees will work from home from 8 a.m. to noon and then be released.

The circular aims to provide government workers with more time to observe Maundy Thursday and Good Friday on April 17 and 18, as well as to allow them to travel for the Holy Week break.

Agencies providing essential services such as health care and disaster response are exempted from this arrangement and must maintain normal operations.

Private companies have the discretion to adopt a similar work schedule for their employees during Holy Week.
