Makati launches first pooled testing for COVID-19

Makati City launched the country's first pooled testing for COVID-19, targeting about 6,000 residents including market vendors and PUV drivers.

The city government uses a pool of five samples tested with one kit; if positive, individual tests are conducted.

Testing will take place at Makati Coliseum from September 2 to 8 as part of Project Ark, a private sector initiative.

Makati Mayor Abigail Binay emphasized the scientific backing and potential impact on local governments and industries.
