Makati launches MLMC, public-private healthcare model with advanced facilities

On Thursday, April 24, Makati City officially launched the fully-operational Makati Life Medical Center (MLMC), a public-private partnership model aimed at transforming healthcare delivery in the Philippines.

Makati Mayor Abby Binay emphasized that MLMC is not just another hospital but represents a new vision for compassionate and innovative care accessible to all Filipinos, with the facility having already served over 387,000 patients during its soft opening phase.

The MLMC, which received the 'Integrated Healthcare Provider of the Year' award at the 2025 Healthcare Asia Awards in Kuala Lumpur, offers expanded services including inpatient care, emergency surgery, imaging, and intensive care with 72 beds available.

Since opening its Outpatient Department in May 2023, MLMC has recorded around 300,000 patient visits and is equipped with advanced technology such as an AI-powered digital PET/CT scanner for early cancer detection and other state-of-the-art diagnostic tools.

The hospital can boast of 583 doctors attached to the establishment and 535 employees, providing a scalable blueprint for other cities to follow.

Makati Yellow Card holders can access all MLMC services free of charge, including primary care, emergency services, diagnostics, specialized clinics, preventive care, maternal health services, chronic disease management, and telemedicine.
