Magnolia trades Ahanmisi for Gomez-de Liano

The Magnolia Hotshots have traded Jerrick Ahanmisi and a draft pick to Terrafirma Dyip for Javi Gomez-de Liano, continuing their roster changes ahead of the PBA 50th Season.

Gomez-de Liano, who recently played with Strong Group Athletics in the William Jones Cup where they successfully defended their title, will now join Magnolia after his rights were initially given to Terrafirma but returned to Magnolia by the PBA trade committee.

Ahanmisi, drafted by Magnolia in 2021 and a key player during their finals appearances, ends his four-year stint with the team as he moves on to Terrafirma for more playing time.

The PBA has approved this trade as part of Magnolia's ongoing efforts under new coach LA Tenorio, who recently took over from longtime head coach Chito Victolero.

Gomez-de Liano's addition to the Hotshots comes after the exit of William Navarro and veteran Rafi Reavis, further bolstering their lineup for the upcoming season.
