Luzon swing concludes at John Hay Golf Club

This week marks the conclusion of the Luzon swing of the ICTSI Junior Elite PGT Series at the challenging John Hay Golf Club in Baguio City, where local players aim to disrupt the competition despite no longer being in contention for spots in the upcoming finals.

The event on Tuesday, August 19, is crucial for young golfers competing for spots in the Elite Junior Finals scheduled for October 7-10 at The Country Club in Laguna, while Baguio-based juniors seek to make a strong finish on their home course.

Leading contenders include Mavis Espedido and Winter Serapio in the girls' 7-10 division, Ryuji Suzuki and Vito Sarines in the boys' 11-14 category, and Patrick Tambalque, Shinichi Suzuki, Zachary Villaroman, Kristoffer Nadales, and Jose Carlos Taruc in the boys' 15-18 division.

In the final leg, players are closely bunched in points, setting up intense rivalries such as the high-stakes duel between Kristoffer Nadales and Jose Carlos Taruc for the fourth and final qualifying slot in the boys' 15-18 division.

The John Hay Golf Club's challenging layout, with its tight fairways and elevation changes, adds to the psychological pressure on young golfers who must master both course management and mental resilience to secure their spots in the Elite Junior Finals.
