LTO launches Online Driver's License Renewal System via eGovPH app

On Thursday, July 10, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) launched an Online Driver's License Renewal System (ODLRS) in collaboration with the Department of Transportation and the Department of Information and Communications Technology.

The initiative aims to simplify driver’s license renewals by allowing motorists to complete the process entirely online through the eGovPH mobile app, reducing physical transactions and making services more accessible.

Over 10,000 visitors logged in within the first hour of the system's launch, demonstrating public preference for digital platforms.

Motorists can now undergo all steps including medical examinations virtually within the eGov app, streamlining the renewal process further.

To finalize the renewal, motorists must complete an online education program and make payment through available gateways; a successful transaction generates an electronic version of the driver's license valid alongside the physical card.

Transportation Secretary Vivencio B. Dizon highlighted that integrating the renewal process into eGov aims to make government services easier and more convenient for citizens, in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s order to shift all government transactions to digital platforms.

The department also announced plans to introduce online renewals of motor vehicle registrations in future initiatives.
