LTO deploys 1,700 enforcers for Holy Week

Over 1,700 enforcers from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) were deployed to monitor major thoroughfares during Holy Week to ensure safe travel and enforce laws against reckless driving.

Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II said that LTO personnel are stationed to deter reckless behavior and document offenders throughout the holiday period.

Mendoza emphasized that despite attempts by some drivers to evade enforcement, mechanisms are in place to hold them accountable for dangerous driving.

The LTO has coordinated with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and other agencies to ensure immediate action against errant motorists during this high-traffic period.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. advised motorists to remain calm and prioritize family welfare, while DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon instructed the LTO and LTFRB to take measures to prevent reckless driving.

Mendoza also highlighted that netizens can help by reporting abusive or erratic drivers through social media channels and a dedicated hotline.
