China has no basis to stop PH drills in WPS

China has no legal basis to prevent the Philippines from conducting maritime exercises in the West Philippine Sea (WPS), Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said.

Lorenzana noted that China's so-called nine-dash line lacks legal backing under international law, including the UNCLOS and the 2016 Arbitral Award ruling in favor of the Philippines.
