Leyte Rep Romualdez backs Marcos' economic agenda, pushes for more funding

On Wednesday, Leyte Rep. Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez expressed continued support for the Marcos administration's efforts to boost job creation and reduce unemployment.

Romualdez pledged to lead a stronger push in the House for President Marcos' economic agenda, emphasizing the importance of a robust labor force for sustained growth.

He noted that the country's unemployment rate dropped from 4.1% in April to 3.9% in May, with the number of unemployed Filipinos decreasing from 2.06 million to 2.03 million.

Romualdez emphasized the need for adequate funding for the Department of Labor and Employment and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority to enhance employability and job readiness programs.

The lawmaker stated that they will collaborate with foreign investors and the private sector to strengthen President Marcos' initiatives for job creation and improve job quality.
