Abalos meets farmers over rice law concerns in Guimba

Lawyer Argel Cabatbat has invited Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial candidate Benhur Abalos to a face-to-face dialogue with farmers in Guimba, Nueva Ecija over the Rice Tariffication Law.

Cabatbat hopes that this meeting will allow Secretary Abalos to listen directly to the concerns of farmers and farmworkers and work together towards solutions.

Abalos has accepted Cabatbat's invitation, expressing willingness to address issues related to crop insurance, lower interest on loans, and assistance for education of farmers' children.

Cabatbat also invites officials from the Department of Agriculture to attend the dialogue to address these issues.

The proposed dialogue comes after reports of farmer distress due to palay prices in the province.

Cabatbat emphasizes that farm workers are farmers who should not be used as tools for spreading fake news and stresses the importance of fair prices, support for local produce, and a dignified life for farmers.
