Laoag Public Market closed for disinfection after new COVID-19 cases

Laoag City Public Market was closed Wednesday until Saturday for disinfection after eight new COVID-19 cases were reported.

Five vendors, two workers, and one resident tested positive following mass testing on Monday.

The market previously closed last week due to a single case of the virus.

Mayor Michael Keon announced an indefinite closure is being considered as seven active cases are market vendors.

Laoag City has 226 total cases with 64 recoveries, and barangays will set up mini markets for displaced vendors.
